This dataset is a subset of "WFD Classification Status Cycle 2" and contains classification data for Acid Neutralizing Capacity (ANC) in lakes. Acid Neutralising Capacity (ANC) is one of the physicochemical quality elements along with Ammonia, pH, Total phosphorus and Dissolved Oxygen that make up the Physicochemical (Phy-chem) quality status of lakes water bodies. The Phys-chem status and the ecological status are used together to determine the overall status of a water body
ANC is calculated using Alkalinity and Dissolved Oxygen and uses the pH value to apply the correct multiplication factor. No typology data or information is required and classification of status is purely based on the available chemical data. ANC classifications are High, Good or Moderate.
