Queries and disputes related to fee for Intervention

HSE operates a Fee for Intervention (FFI) cost recovery scheme, which came into effect on 1 October 2012. Under the FFI scheme, HSE can recover all of the costs it incurs from dealing with businesses who are found to be in material breach of Heath and Safety law. Those businesses billed for the recovery of HSE’s costs in such circumstances can raise a query or dispute the charge.
HSE maintains information on the numbers of queries and disputes received (since 1 October 2012), names and details of the organisations raising the query/dispute, dates of receipt and responses and whether the query/dispute was upheld/not upheld. The dataset includes some personal and commercially sensitive company data.
