Imposex surveys of whelks around England and Wales

Surveys of imposex in the dogwhelk (Nucella lapillus) have been conducted UK-wide over the past eighteen years (1992, 1997/1998, 2004 and 2007) to assess the effectiveness of TBT legislation controlling the use of TBT from maritime industry. As a continuation of this assessment and to fulfil OSPAR monitoring requirements a further survey was conducted between October, 2010 and January, 2011.
