The FCA analyses the data, from 1 July 2023 and 30 September 2023, resulting from action it has taken against authorised firms breaching financial promotion rules and referrals, and investigations into unregulated activity.
This data provides an overview of how the FCA is working to improve standards across the market so that consumers are provided with clear and fair financial promotions which are not misleading.
The latest data shows the FCA reviewed 1,211 financial adverts relating to authorised firms, and its engagement resulted in 5,310 promotions being amended or withdrawn. Retail lending (with 29%), and retail investments (41%) are the sectors with the highest amend/withdraw outcomes, amounting to just over 70% of the FCA's interventions with authorised firms.
