FCA: Consumer investments data review 2021

The FCA summarises its work to tackle consumer harm in the investment market, between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021.

The FCA's 2021/22 Business Plan sets out its consumer priorities for the year ahead. One of these priorities is to enable consumers to make effective investment decisions. In early 2022, the FCA will publish its consumer strategy to set out its ambition for this market. Ahead of that, it is publishing more detail on its Consumer Investment Strategy to explain the work it will be doing to ensure consumers can invest with confidence, make informed decisions about the risks involved and be aware of the regulatory protections provided.

This report – the second in a regular series – is published alongside the Strategy and offers greater transparency about the FCA's activities to protect consumers from investment harm. It focuses on the period between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021
