Brownfield Land Register 2025

The Government requires each local planning authority to maintain a register of previously developed (brownfield) land that is considered to be appropriate for housing. The Council’s current Brownfield Land Register (October 2025 update) identifies a total of 23 brownfield sites, which comprise approximately 95ha of housing land and could accommodate up to 1,866 dwellings. Site size ranges from 0.02 ha to 36.5 ha and include the former Biwaters site and part of the Avenue site.
