ANSA Grounds Maintenance

This dataset is an indication of the various grounds maintenance areas managed by ANSA on behalf of Cheshire East Council. The dataset is created based on feedback from ground staff and is mapped via ArcGIS 9.3.1 using OS Mastermap, Bluesky's 2010 air survey of Cheshire and Google Street View as a references. The level of detail within the mapping references limits the detail shown in the dataset. The dataset is therefore in part indicative particularly in respect of shrubs where, for example, the thickness of a shrub / side of a hedge that is managed by ANSA can't be obtained from the current mapping sources used to digitise the dataset.

Annual plants are plants with a life cycle of less than a year. They are planted twice a year, once in summer and once in autumn, and are hoed on a 2 week cycle.

Perennial plants are plants which live for 2 or more years and therefore regrow from the same bulb each year, they usually just require hoeing on a 2 week cycle for the first 6 weeks of the growing season and will sometimes be replaced.

Actual car Parks that are swept by the ANSA Street Cleansing team are those that have 'Car Park' included as both the category and the sub category field. Verges, paths and areas of shrubs where they form part of a car park can be identified by the sub category field which will be set to 'Car Park'.
