Ichthyoplankton and beach surveys were undertaken in 2001, 2002 and 2003 by
the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science to examine
plaice spawning and settling juvenile distribution in the eastern Irish Sea.
This data consists of:
1) Numbers of fish eggs and larvae identified from the main net plankton
samples, along with associated positional and ancillary data and volumes
filtered.
2) Numbers and lengths of 0-group plaice, shrimp (Crangon crangon), crabs and
other species collected during sampling from the beach with a small beam
trawl.
3) Micro-increment counts of prepared otoliths taken from juvenile plaice.
